Season 7 castmember Tasha Malek, became one of the most controversial castmembers due to her homophobic slurs.

Summary[]

Throughout the show Tasha made comments where she was shaming the LGBT community. One of the most memorable moments was when she made a comment about her former friend Shelly Hickman who is openly gay:

  • “I’ve never met anyone in my life who flaunts their gayness as much as Shelly does. It’s disgusting and wrong.”

In addition to the above comment, Tasha also used the gay slur that begins with a letter F a number of times. This led to some outrage from fans. Fast forward to today and according to Tasha, she is far from being homophobic. The bad girl posted the following in ablog in an attempt to defend herself

  • “I’ve said it plenty. I don’t think it’s right to be gay. The Bible says it should be between a woman and a man. Although, I do have plenty of gay friends that I love and support, I personally don’t think it’s right."
  • Am I homophobic? What a joke! No way! I’m just standing up for what I believe in. I do not care about anyone’s sexual preference. It has NOTHING to do with me!!!!”

Impact[]

At reunion, she was seen arguing with Perez Hilton when he confronted her about the comments. He dubbed her as his least favorite bad girl. He gets into an argument with about it as well.
